Lord, I Long to Hear You, December 2005 (revised Feb. 2009)
Words and Music by Leah Van Maaren

I'm often amazed how a song I wrote four years ago can again speak to my heart in a way that is new revelation and with new meaning that as I grow in my faith wasn't possible at the time I wrote it. And as I grow as a song writer, I see and hear parts of the song that need revamping as well. So here is the remake of this four year old song.

Lord, speak. Your servant is listening
Lord, speak. Do you call my name?
I hear a voice in the distance
Echoes of a much brighter day
Lord, speak. Your servant is listening,
struggling for the will to obey,
walking through the dry, barren desert,
crying out for the pouring rain

Here I am
I bring my all
I'm longing for Your freedom
'cause You alone can offer my soul peace
and my soul rest
Lord, I long to hear You
Lord, I long to hear You again
