Words and Music by Leah Van Maaren

I've been thinking a lot lately about what it means to be the Bride of Christ, and while reading through the book of Jeremiah I'm finding tons of comparisons between Israel straying from her God and an adultrous bride. Jeremiah goes so far to call God's chosen group of people a 'whore' as he calls the people of Israel back to their God from the false gods they keep choosing to follow. With that in mind, and the idea of a 'wedding dance' as consumating a relationship with the one true God, I write this song.

LYRICS:
Seek dear children, for you'll find
the one you long, who fills your mind,
who fills your heart and your soul,
your Maker, Creator, the one who makes you whole.
Do not fear, do not hide,
He longs to have you at His side
to talk, to laugh, to hold, to sing
to share with you so many things.
O, lift your heads and lift your hands.
Surrender to His call to dance

Step by step, swing and twirl
A dance of praise consumes the world
His precious bride come be satisfied
Join the dance, join the dance.

Though other loves His bride has known
He longs to have you as His own
to fill your heart and your soul
to heal you, redeem you, and fill you 'til you're full
Do not run, do not try
to find one more to satisfy
the emptiness on which you've fed
that tears you down with every step
O, lift your heads and lift your hands
This is the real and one true dance

Step by step, swing and twirl
A dance of praise consumes the world
His precious bride come be satisfied
Join the dance...
